What is a PSP?
A Private Study Program (PSP), established according to the California Education Code, is a school offering homeschoolers private school enrollment with record keeping, accountability, education, training, guidance, and student interaction. However, because this does not guarantee legal protection, we require all members to join the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA).

You can create a customized schedule that fits into your life. You set your own pace and your own goals, so you can make the most of your education experience. With our flexible scheduling options, you can fit your studies into your life and reach your educational goals.

Independent study students tend to work at a much faster pace than traditionally schooled groups. A traditional school year is approximately 180 days with a varying rate of 200-360 minutes per school day depending on the grade level of the student. Our calendar includes 180 school days, but our families often find they complete their days, and even their school year, in much less time. We encourage our families to focus on making progress in their coursework and towards their goals rather than counting minutes and days.
Who teaches?
You are! Education is a lifelong journey. Did you know that you are your child’s first teacher? From the moment your child is born, you are capable of teaching and will serve as the primary teacher. You may hire tutors or enroll your child in online or on-site classes offered by others at your discretion.

When does school start?
Our official school year calendar begins on September 1st and runs Monday - Friday through early June with traditional holidays included, but you may adjust this to meet your needs. We offer rolling enrollment, so you may enroll at any time during the year.
